Picos, also known as colines, are a type of crunchy bread typical in Andalusia that are often served with tapas such as ham or cheese.

Due to their low amount of water picos have a hard consistency. This dryness allows them to be kept for long periods. The ingredients are wheat flour, water., yeast and salt. Vegetable oil is usually added to the mix.
Picos have little water, like toasted bread this makes them easy to digest. This means that people with digestion difficulties such as gastritis or ulcers can tolerate them better that normal bread.
They are sold in 150g. bags so that they can conserve their crunchy texture.
