The semi-aged Mahón D.O.P. cheese is of an orangey/brown colour. The texture is buttery and it has a very agreeable flavour. The flavour is intense and slightly spicy. It is very easy to cut and this reveals a smooth, solid and bright surface. An essential classic for a Spanish cheese board.
Mahón cheese D.O.P. is made from pasteurised cow's milk from the local Mayonese breed as well as friesians and alpine brown in the Island of Menorca (Baleares).
STORAGE AND CONSUMPTION:
It can be accompanied by a good red wine.
It can be eaten as an aperitif or as a dessert with fig or date cake (see our products)
Store in the fridge and it should be removed about 30 minutes before serving for better flavour and texture.
